What is the difference between a virtual number and a second line?

A virtual number is a phone number that rings on your main phone number. You can get inbound calls on this number, but outbound calls will always be from your main phone number.

A second line is just that--a line that is completely separate from your main phone number. You can select a phone number for your second line in any area where we currently have local numbers. Like a virtual number, it can provide a way for people in other area codes to call you locally. However unlike a virtual number, you can also make outbound calls from this number.
