How do I set a static IP on the Motorola?

First make sure that you PC is connected to the PC port on the Motorola MTA. If your PC is connected to a router, connect the router PC to the PC port on the Motorola.

Make sure that your PC or router is getting an IP address from the Motorola MTA. The MTA will hand out an IP address that looks like 192.168.102.xxx and a Default Gateway of 192.168.102.1.

If your PC or router is set with a static IP, you will need to set it to obtain an IP address automatically before it will get an IP address from the MTA. (Make sure you have noted the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, and Primary and Secondary DNS servers before changing any of these configurations on your existing network.)

Log in to the following address to access the Motorola management interface: 192.168.102.1

Go to the Basic Configuration page. Select 'Specify Static IP Address', and enter the IP Address, the Subnet Mask, and the Default Gateway.

Enter your Primary and Secondary DNS Addresses further down the page.

Click on the 'Save Changes' button. You should be asked to reboot the device. Click 'Yes'. This will set your static IP in the Motorola.
